The second week of September begins with stable weather and temperatures above average across most of the country. Seven districts are under yellow warning for hot weather: Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Lisbon, Setúbal, Évora, Beja and Faro. This warning remains in effect until 9pm today, due to the persistence of high temperatures.
Temperatures of up to 39 degrees Celsius are expected in several locations in Baixo Alentejo, especially in the Guadiana Valley, which is expected to be the hottest region in the country. Along the interior areas, temperatures of up to 38 degrees are expected in Beira Baixa and up to 37 degrees in the Douro Valley. Thermal anomalies are elevated, with values up to 9 degrees above average.
Starting tomorrow, September 8, the scenario changes and rain returns. After Thursday, September 10, a new change in weather conditions is forecast.
