IPMA places seven districts under yellow warning until 21:00 on Monday due to heat

The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) placed seven districts of mainland Portugal under yellow warning due to intense heat, with the validity expected until 21:00 on Monday.

The districts covered by the yellow warning are Beja, Évora, Faro, Portalegre, Santarém, Setúbal and Lisbon. The warning also applies to the south coast of Madeira island and Porto Santo.

The yellow warning is the second lowest level of a three-level meteorological danger scale and indicates a risk situation for certain activities dependent on weather conditions.

The high temperatures forecast for these districts justified the issuance of the warning by IPMA, alerting the population to take care during this heat period.
