Ne-Yo took the Rock in Rio Sunset Stage and kept the audience dancing with his classic soul and R&B. The singer opened the show with "Closer", his traditional show opener, and kept the energy high throughout the performance. The soulman managed to hold onto the crowd that migrated between the festival spaces.
Like his previous Rock in Rio show in 2024 was a success, Ne-Yo didn't change the winning setlist from two years ago and followed the same structure, including "Because of you". The wet audience continued dancing throughout the entire performance.
During the show, the singer spoke in Portuguese and presented his new album, "Highway 79". Two songs from the record were performed live, "Ms. Tundra" and "Up out and gone", both received with good receptivity by the audience present.
The crowd hummed along to hits like "Give me everything" and "Time of our lives", two songs originally by Pitbull. Ne-Yo maintains the soul tradition of covering and singing other artists' songs, a common practice in the musical genre he represents.
