The next week in mainland Portugal will be marked by significant contrasts in weather, according to ECMWF forecasts. An upper-level disturbance will bring rain and a drop in temperatures, especially in the North and Central regions, between Tuesday and Wednesday.
This meteorological change will be associated with the passage of an upper-level trough over the Iberian Peninsula, which will allow the entry of cooler air and make the atmosphere more unstable, with increased cloud cover and precipitation.
However, the change will be temporary. From Thursday onwards, conditions will become more stable, with the moving away of the trough and the reinforcement of an atmospheric ridge, associated with warmer air. Temperatures will rise again across Portuguese territory.
