In the city of Rio de Janeiro, the early hours of Sunday were marked by strong winds and the fall of a tree. The Alerta Rio system recorded significant gusts between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., with winds of 67 km/h in Marambaia, in the West Zone, and 59 km/h in Copacabana, in the South Zone. At 5:22 a.m., Santos Dumont airport also recorded winds of 61.1 km/h.
According to the State Civil Defense, there were reports of light to moderate rain in the capital and in the Costa Verde, Metropolitan, and Serrana regions during the early morning. The minimum temperature recorded was 12°C in Petrópolis, in the Serrana region.
The movement of a cold front throughout the day may bring rain and moderate to strong winds, with risks extending to other regions of the State of Rio de Janeiro. Residents are advised to prepare for unstable weather, both at home and outdoors.
