Fuel prices – Week of September 7 to 13, 2026

Fuel prices in Portugal are expected to rise during the week of September 7 to 13, with petrol rising by about 12 cents per liter and diesel by about 15 cents per liter. On Friday, September 4, the average price of diesel was 2.019 euros and petrol was 2.022 euros per liter, values that are expected to rise to 2.169 euros and 2.142 euros, respectively. The increase is due to the current conflict in the Middle East, involving the USA, Israel and Iran, which led to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of world oil and natural gas trade passes, causing fluctuations in prices in Europe and Portugal.
