The Portuguese Government extended until the end of the year the deadline for concluding the TAP privatization. This decision aims to allow more time to advance the sale process of the airline.
The extension will allow three weeks of final negotiations with potential buyers interested in TAP. The two main candidates for the negotiations are the Air France-KLM and Lufthansa groups.
During this additional period, the two companies are expected to submit improved binding offers for the acquisition of TAP. The Government's objective is to obtain the best possible conditions in this final phase of the privatization process.
