Jonathan Samuel Meléndez Ochoa, known artistically as "Honas," was a keyboardist, composer, producer, and member of the Mexican band Camilo Séxtimo. At age 38, he was shot and killed along with his pregnant wife and his 3-year-old daughter inside an apartment, in an attack that also claimed the lives of two other women in his family.
Camilo Séxtimo, formed in 2013, established itself as one of the main names in alternative rock in Mexico. The band moved between indie rock, synth-pop, and alternative music, being marked by soundscapes with synthesizers and spatial atmospheres that won over fans not only in Mexico but also in other countries in Latin America.
Among the group's most well-known works are the albums Óleos, released in 2017, Navegantes, from 2019, and ECOS, from 2022. Meléndez appeared among the songwriting credits of the band's repertoire, according to information available on music platforms. The musician leaves a significant legacy in the Mexican music scene, being considered one of the central figures of the group.
