Indonesia suspended flights at six airports following a volcanic eruption. The measure directly affects air traffic in the country, with significant impacts on passengers and airline operations.
Jakarta's international airport announced the extension of the flight suspension until 5:30 PM local time, which corresponds to 11:30 AM in Lisbon. This decision represents an extension of the initial closure.
More than 200 flights have already been cancelled or affected due to the eruption. It is estimated that approximately 20,000 passengers have been impacted by the disruption of air services at the airports involved.
