Russia launches project for maritime oil transport via Arctic route

Russia launched the Vostok Oil project, dedicated to the maritime transport of crude oil through the Arctic route. This project represents a strategic initiative for the exploration and export of Russian energy resources.

The project consists of supplying crude oil through a pipeline spanning several hundred kilometres. This pipeline is responsible for transporting oil from the production areas to the maritime shipping points.

The oil is extracted from two fields located in Siberia: Payaj and Vankorsk. These fields form the supply base for the pipeline that feeds the Vostok Oil project.

The company, which participated in projects at the Sines Refinery (including interventions in 2001 and the expansion project in 2010 with Técnicas Reunidas), at the LNG Terminal and in the ARTLANT project, received investment from Atena Equity Partners in 2015 and had its majority stake sold to Grupo ISPT in 2022. The insolvency proceedings are running at the Sintra Commercial Court — Judge 3, under case number 9386/25.3T8SNT, with equipment such as welding machines, electrode ovens and electrical panels to be sold with base values between 100 and 1,100 euros.
