Portugal's Ministry of Environment and Energy announced it has fully met all 51 targets under its responsibility within the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), with a total investment exceeding 1.8 billion euros. The energy efficiency area was the most relevant, with over 556 million euros executed, covering more than 85,000 households and two million square meters of renovated public buildings. In water resilience, the Algarve had 204 kilometres of supply networks intervened and 2.56 cubic hectometres of water saved. The energy transition received 447 million euros for hydrogen and battery storage, while transport decarbonisation achieved 952 zero-emission buses. The European Commission praised Portugal as an example in the fight against energy poverty, highlighting the network of 132 Energy Spaces created across the territory. Minister Maria da Graça Carvalho highlighted that the investments translated into concrete results that improve people's lives and accelerate the energy transition.
