The series "Spider-Noir", from Prime Video starring Nicolas Cage, was cancelled after just one season, despite critical and audience success. The production received 90% audience approval and 92% critic approval on Rotten Tomatoes, in addition to eleven Emmy nominations, the highest number among streaming productions in 2026.
The project marked Nicolas Cage's first regular role on television. The series also inaugurated the agreement between Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television based on the intellectual property of Sony Pictures' Marvel characters universe, which already has more productions on the way.
The combination between the Marvel universe and Nicolas Cage's presence helped boost the series' launch, which happened in May. In the first week, "Spider-Noir" held second place in the Nielsen Top 10 in the US for original series, reaching 851 million minutes watched.
