FORNOS DE ALGODRES: Municipality stands out in tourism with the 2nd highest growth in CIMBSE

The municipality of Fornos de Algodres recorded significant tourism growth, being the second municipality with the highest overnight stay growth in the Intermunicipal Community of Beiras and Serra da Estrela (CIMBSE). Data from the National Statistics Institute confirms this positive evolution of the tourism sector in the municipality.

Between January and June 2026, Fornos de Algodres achieved 11,768 overnight stays, representing an increase of 1,853 overnight stays compared to the same period in 2025. This growth translates into an increase of 18.69% compared to the first half of the previous year.

This performance positions the municipality as one of the highlights of the CIMBSE region in terms of tourism attractiveness. The significant growth in overnight stays indicates greater demand from visitors, contributing to local economic development through the tourism sector.
