The Service for the Protection of Nature and the Environment (SEPNA) of the Gouveia Territorial Detachment, belonging to the Guarda Territorial Command of the GNR, rescued a roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) that was in a weakened state. The rescue took place yesterday at the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, in the municipality of Seia.
The animal was found by a private citizen next to National Road 338, which crosses that area of the natural park. After being located, the roe deer was rescued by the competent authorities.
SEPNA is the GNR service specialized in the protection of nature and the environment, responsible for this type of emergency interventions involving wild species in vulnerable situations.
