Thousands of Croatians demonstrated in Zagreb to demand accountability for the illegal disposal of waste in the country.
The protests were motivated by the discovery of up to 45,000 tonnes of imported waste that was buried in Croatia.
The waste was illegally deposited near a natural park, which alarmed the local population and environmentalists.
The demonstrators demand that authorities identify and hold accountable those responsible for this illegal import and disposal of waste.
