The Administration of the Ports of Sines and Algarve (APS) announced the integration of three new pick-up vehicles, 100% electric and with all-wheel drive (4×4), in its operational fleet at the Port of Sines. This acquisition represents another step in the port authority's energy transition strategy.
The new units will be used for critical emergency missions, monitoring, inspection and prevention in the areas of security and environment. The four-wheel drive and electric motorization provide teams with greater mobility, intervention and readiness capabilities in the field.
The acquisition is part of the global decarbonization plan of the Port of Sines and the environmental commitments undertaken by APS. In addition to eliminating direct CO2 emissions, the replacement with electric vehicles will allow for the optimization of operation and maintenance costs, promoting more sustainable and efficient management of resources.
With this investment, APS reaffirms its trajectory towards sustainability and innovation, aligning the activity of the Port of Sines with the national and European carbon neutrality targets for port infrastructure.
