The English band Hot Milk was the penultimate act on the Sunset stage on Friday at Rock in Rio 2026. The group, described as a mix of metal-punk-pop-electronic, started the show with the song "Swallow this". Vocalist Hannah Mee, described as tiny and tattooed, took the stage complaining about the lack of audience energy, asking where the mosh pit was.
The sound was initially low, far from the intensity that the band The Hives had presented shortly before on the Mundo stage. Even so, Hannah tried everything to engage the audience, who were still making their way to the Sunset. Gradually, the sound volume and the amount of audience increased, allowing the band to show its capabilities.
The dynamic between Hannah Mee's vocals and Jim Shaw's guitar worked well in songs like "90 seconds to midnight" and "Bad influence". The interactions between the band and the electronic programming were also highlighted as positive throughout the presentation.
Hot Milk was compared to a mix of Linkin Park and Taylor Swift, among other artists, reflecting their style that combines elements of rock, pop and electronic music.
