The CBN Dinheiro program this Friday (4) answered a listener's question, Marcos, about whether real estate funds can be an alternative for those seeking monthly income from financial investments. Specialist Marcelo d'Agosto clarified that real estate funds are variable income investments, which means that both the investment value and the monthly returns received can vary up or down.
According to the specialist, there are two types of real estate funds. Brick funds invest in income-generating properties, such as office floors, logistics warehouses, or shopping centers. Paper funds, on the other hand, invest in financial assets linked to the real estate market.
Marcelo d'Agosto stated that investing in real estate funds can complement monthly income, but only if the person has other fixed income investments. Without this diversification, the risk can be very high for the investor.
Additionally, the specialist emphasized the importance of diversifying the investment across at least five different real estate funds to manage risk, in case any fund does not perform well.
