Armindo was a firefighter for 40 years and today transforms wood into incredible miniatures

Notícias de Coimbra4 September 2026 at 20:48

Armindo dedicated 40 years of his life to the firefighter career. After retiring, he discovered a new passion that occupies his free time: transforming wood into incredible miniatures.

The craftsman works with pieces of wood, tools, and lots of creativity to create his small pieces by hand. Each piece requires patience, manual skill, and attention to detail, characteristics he developed throughout his experience as a firefighter.

The transition from firefighter life to artisanal carpentry shows how it's possible to find new vocations after retirement. Armindo now channels his energy and dedication into a hobby that combines artisanal tradition and precision.

The wooden miniatures have become the ex-firefighter's new life project, demonstrating that even outside of active service, he continues contributing to the community in another way, now through his wooden artworks.
