The 20th edition of MOTELX, Lisbon International Horror Film Festival, has launched and is considered the biggest ever. The festival takes place at Cinema São Jorge, in Lisbon, and for the first time in its history runs for 11 days, extending from August 30 to September 13.
This year's edition surpasses all previous ones in size, marking an important milestone for the festival which celebrates two decades of existence. The event continues to be one of the main events dedicated to horror and psychological horror cinema in the European landscape.
The Cinemateca Portuguesa is one of the festival's partner spaces, hosting the special section "Lost in Europe: Horror Behind the Iron Curtain." This parallel programming explores the horror aspect in the context of the countries behind the Iron Curtain, enriching the cultural offering of the event.
