A 49-year-old man was seriously injured in a work accident in Alcácer do Sal. The accident occurred during a work activity and the victim suffered very serious injuries. The man was transported by helicopter of the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) to São José Hospital in Lisbon, where he received medical care.

Security cameras recorded the moment the animal lunged at a driver who was getting out of a moving van. Witnesses believe the creature could be a gray fox or a fisher cat, but police have not yet managed to capture it to identify the species. The main suspicion of authorities is that the animal is contaminated with the rabies virus, and the population has been advised to remain alert to their surroundings.
