Nepal Floods: UN requests 42.6 million euros in aid

The UN and its humanitarian partners launched an urgent financial appeal of 42.6 million euros to help more than 84,000 people affected by the floods of August 26 in Nepal. The four-month humanitarian response plan aims to prevent epidemic outbreaks and ensure supplies before temperatures drop in Himalayan communities. The floods and landslides have already caused at least 1,295 deaths and 4,898 missing in Nepal, while in Tibet 31 deaths and 531 missing people have been recorded.
