The Portuguese government announced support of 12 million euros for winegrowers in the Douro region who cannot sell their grape production this campaign. This measure comes as a response to the difficulties faced by the wine sector in the region.
The support will be specifically aimed at producers who cannot place on the market the grapes they produced during this campaign. The objective is to mitigate the financial losses of these farmers given the impossibility of selling their production.
In parallel, the executive is preparing the creation of a permanent fund to structurally address the recurring difficulties of the wine sector. This long-term initiative aims to prevent similar situations in the future and guarantee greater stability for Douro producers.
