A Transtejo Soflusa (TTSL) ferry crashed against a pier at Trafaria on Thursday night, September 3. The boat was carrying 27 passengers on board at the time of the accident.
The accident occurred after the ferry suffered a mechanical failure during the crossing. The vessel lost control and collided with the pier structure in the Trafaria area.
Authorities were alerted to the incident and the usual emergency procedures for this type of situation were activated. No information about injuries or significant material damage was immediately available.
The affected ferry belongs to Transtejo Soflusa, the company responsible for river transport between the south and north banks of the Tagus, in the Lisbon area.
