The 32nd edition of Artechique – Craft and Flavors Fair takes place on September 12 and 13, on the promenade next to the Monchique Parish Council and at Largo dos Chorões. Entry is free and the event will be open on Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00 and on Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00. The event features about 30 exhibitors dedicated to crafts, local products and gastronomy, including a tasquinhas area.
The musical program includes on Saturday Versus Tuna, from the University of Algarve, at 20:00, followed by Elena Correia's concert at 21:00, and a dance with accordionist Débora Machado at 22:30. On Sunday, at 15:00, the show "Luís Simenta sings Alentejo" takes place, followed by the 37th edition of the traditional Accordion Players Meeting.
In parallel, the Monchique Hunting and Fishing Club organizes the XIV Tournament "3 setes", a card game played by pairs whose objective is to reach 40 points first. Registrations run until September 11 through contacts 967 908 965 or 282 912 871.
The president of the Monchique Parish Council, José Gonçalo da Silva, highlights that the executive sought to bring visitors the best that is made in the region, with unique pieces made by local artisans and lots of entertainment. He also emphasizes that the Accordion Players Meeting allows the meeting of different generations in a place of traditions.
