A man was admitted to the Hospital do Divino Espírito Santo with injuries to a leg resulting from a shotgun blast. The case was initially reported by the newspaper Açoriano Oriental on Tuesday.
Today, the Judicial Police clarified the incident and revealed that it was the man himself who fired the weapon at himself, thus clarifying the circumstances of the injury.
The case originated on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores, where the newspaper Açoriano Oriental regularly covers this type of local occurrence. The intervention of the Judicial Police made it possible to determine that it was neither an accident nor third parties involved.
