The Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of Loulé from the GNR seized, in the early hours of September 4, a vehicle transporting 150 fuel canisters in the Algarve. The operation took place in the municipality of Loulé and resulted in the detention of eight men.

The eight individuals were arrested on suspicion of circulation smuggling, a crime related to the illegal transport of fuel. The authorities did not specify where the fuel would be transported.

This operation is part of the regular fuel smuggling enforcement and combating work that the GNR carries out in the Algarve region, an area frequently targeted by this type of illegal activity.

The content was reported by the Algarve Marafado portal, which reported the seizure and the detentions made by the military authorities.
