Actor João Victor Gonçalves, 24 years old, who plays Mau Mau in the soap opera "Quem Ama Cuida", revealed in an interview with Arte Blitz during an event in Rio de Janeiro last Wednesday, the 2nd, that he hopes his character will star in a gay kiss in the 9pm prime-time soap. "We hope it happens, right? It has to happen. I don't know when, I don't know how, but it has to happen," the actor stated.
Mau Mau, brother of lead character Adriana played by Letícia Colin, is set to start a romance with Felipe, character played by 21-year-old Pietro Antonelli. Felipe is the son of actors Giovanna Antonelli and Murilo Benício.
The fictional couple already has a massive following on social media. The ship called "Malipe", the name fans gave to the duo formed by Mau Mau and Felipe, appeared even before the soap's premiere. The buzz was so huge that writers Walcyr Carrasco and Claudia Souto decided to change the characters' story direction and create the romance at the public's request.
