Journalist Chico Pinheiro, former anchor of "Bom dia Brasil," is in his eleventh week of chemotherapy treatment after discovering intestinal cancer. He revealed the diagnosis in May of this year, during an interview with singer Zeca Baleiro on the program "Chico Pinheiro entrevista." During treatment, he spent more than a month hospitalized and underwent two surgeries.
In an update on his health status shared with followers, Chico assures that he will overcome the disease. "Two surgeries later, plus twelve weeks of chemo for me to get rid of the cancer. Just a little more and I'll be ready, and I guarantee to all of you that from Hospital do Coração I'll leave capable of 'farming aura,'" he stated, using a reference to the world of electronic gaming.
The journalist also made a point of praising the care he has been receiving at HCor, the Hospital do Coração, where he is being treated. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of the Unified Health System (SUS) for Brazilian citizens, reinforcing his commitment to valuing public health in the country.
