Fornos de Algodres is increasingly establishing itself as a tourist destination in the Beira region. The latest data from the National Statistics Institute confirms a very positive evolution of tourism activity in the municipality during the first half of 2026.
According to INE figures, overnight stays in the municipality grew by 18.69% between January and June, representing a significant increase compared to the same period the previous year. This growth positions Fornos de Algodres in second place in the region's tourism ranking.
The local mayor has been highlighting these results as proof of the efforts made to promote the municipality's tourism potential. The council believes this trend can continue to strengthen in the coming months, benefiting from the growing demand for destinations in Beira Interior.
The growth of tourism in the municipality contrasts with the trend observed in other parts of the country, demonstrating that Fornos de Algodres is managing to attract more and more visitors through its local tourism offerings.
