Fuels soar on Monday: diesel rises 15 cents and gasoline 12 cents

Fuel prices are set to increase next Monday in Portugal. Simple diesel is expected to rise by 15 cents per liter and simple 95 gasoline is expected to advance by 12 cents per liter, provided the current trend holds. This estimate was reported by the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP).

Based on current values from the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG) and taking into account forecasts of variations with Thursday's market closing values, the average price of simple diesel is expected to reach 2.169 euros per liter. As for simple 95 gasoline, the price is expected to rise to 2.142 euros per liter.

The ACP noted that these forecasts depend on the current trend holding until the end of the week, which means the final values may still change before implementation on Monday.
