A new Portuguese wine arrives on the market costing €6 but 'missing' this ingredient

Adega do Cartaxo launched a new brand of dealcoholized wines called Absolvido, which arrives on the Portuguese market with two products: a white sparkling wine and a white wine, both at 0% alcohol. The cooperative claims to be the first Portuguese cooperative winery to create its own brand dedicated to dealcoholized wines. The recommended prices are six euros for the white wine and 7.50 euros for the sparkling wine.

Both references are produced with grapes from the Fernão Pires and Moscatel Graúdo varieties, from the Cartaxo sub-region, in the Vinhos do Tejo territory. The range emerges in response to the growing demand for beverages with lower alcohol content and alcohol-free alternatives, allowing consumers to maintain the ritual associated with wine without consuming alcohol.

Pedro Gil, Enology Director at Adega do Cartaxo, considered that the development of the two references represented a challenge, given that the segment is still recent in the Portuguese market. The responsible stated that the team wanted to ensure a quality product that would not disappoint on the palate.

The official presentation of the brand is scheduled for October 2 in Lisbon, a date that coincides with World Alcohol-Free Day. The motto of the presentation is "Guilty of being wine, Absolved from alcohol", and the winery will promote a giveaway on its Instagram page to engage the public.

At 21, Kailane Santos left a formal job after becoming pregnant and her daughter presenting health issues, finding in delivery apps like iFood a way to balance work and childcare. Today, she works eight to ten hours daily as a delivery worker, but still does not contribute to Social Security, exemplifying one of the dilemmas of the app-based work model: flexibility versus lack of social protection and precarization of labor relations.
