A 34-year-old man died on Thursday night following a motorcycle crash on National Road 101 (EN101), in Mazedo, in the municipality of Monção. The alert for the accident was received at approximately 11:11 PM.
The Voluntary Firefighters of Monção with eight operatives were mobilized to the scene, in addition to GNR officers and the Criminal Investigation Unit for Road Traffic Accidents (NICAV).
The victim was assisted at the scene, but could not survive the severity of the injuries. Death was later declared by the competent authorities.
The circumstances in which the accident occurred are being investigated by the NICAV of the GNR.
