GNR arrested five men suspected of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons during an operation carried out in the municipalities of Cartaxo, in the district of Santarém, and Sesimbra, in the district of Setúbal.
The authorities seized more than 14 thousand doses of illicit substances, including hashish and cannabis products. In addition to the narcotic products, several weapons were also confiscated during the operation.
The arrested individuals are suspected of being part of a drug trafficking network operating in both towns. The police operation also aimed to gather evidence of illegal possession of weapons committed by the suspects.
GNR carried out this anti-drug trafficking operation in the two regions, resulting in the identification and subsequent arrest of the five individuals.
