A new community called Cultura Literária Algarve has been created in the Algarve, which aims to bring together writers, independent authors, booksellers, publishers, reading club facilitators, event organizers, and other professionals connected to books and artistic creation around the written word.
The initiative comes from Algarve-based authors and cultural agents Analita Alves dos Santos and Cátia Guerreiro, who want to create a network capable of stimulating contacts, sharing experiences, and new collaborations among those who promote literary activity in the region. The project is based on the possibility of members getting to know each other and sharing the work they develop, from books and gatherings to presentations, fairs, and workshops.
Among the objectives of Cultura Literária Algarve is the promotion of face-to-face meetings between members and strengthening the visibility of books and projects that, according to those responsible, often do not reach bookshops or the usual dissemination channels. The responsible parties argue that greater proximity between these agents could strengthen cooperation and expand the impact of the various initiatives developed in the Algarve.
The first in-person presentation of the community is scheduled for Sunday, September 27, at 4:00 PM, at FNAC Guia, at AlgarveShopping, integrated into the BOOK TALKS. The session will also serve to prepare the first broad meeting of members, scheduled for November 14, where each participant will be able to present their projects in a collective showcase that will also allow for the sale of works.
