The PCP of Beja demanded the completion of the IP8 road work between Sines and Vila Verde de Ficalho, arguing that this infrastructure is essential for the development of the Baixo Alentejo region.
The party accused PSD/CDS and PS of carrying out "propaganda maneuvers" with the opening of new variants in the region, suggesting that these actions are more cosmetic than substantive measures.
The IP8 is an important national road that connects the coastal area of Sines to the interior of Baixo Alentejo, passing through Vila Verde de Ficalho, near the border with Spain.
The PCP's position emerges in a context of debate about investment priorities in road infrastructure in the Alentejo, with the party insisting on the need to complete this road as a way of boosting the regional economy.
