Report from PF cited by Moraes says that Mendonça acted with different criteria in Lulinha and ACM Neto cases

Minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the Supreme Federal Court, accused colleague André Mendonça of directing investigations against targets for "personal and political motives." Moraes based his accusation on excerpts from a report prepared by the Federal Police.

According to the PF report, Mendonça adopted "distinct" criteria when evaluating cases that held "relevant similarity." The document points to an "asymmetry by political spectrum" in the minister's attitudes, with different perceptions "according to the political spectrum of the person involved in the facts."

The PF compared two specific cases: one involving candidate for governor of Bahia ACM Neto, from União Brasil, and the case of Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha, the eldest son of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, from the PT. According to the investigation, both presented similar factual situations but were treated differently.

Moraes's citations were made in a decision in which he included Mendonça in the fake news inquiry, arguing there were "strong indications" of practices of administrative impropriety, abuse of authority and other crimes.

The rumba of Jorge Carvalho

Using a musical metaphor, the text denounces that essential documents, legal opinions, and explanations are missing from council meetings, yet meetings still proceed. The criticism falls especially on the chief of staff, who moved from Social Security to the council and now occupies the office, and on the apparent lack of organization that turns meetings into a "rumba" where no one knows where the necessary documents are.
