The Socialists of the Azores submitted a request to the regional parliament to obtain detailed data on the execution of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) in the region. The initiative comes following the regional government led by José Manuel Bolieiro announcing an investment of 918 million euros within the scope of the PRR.
The socialist party intends to clarify how these European funds are being applied in the autonomous region. Through the parliamentary request, PS/Açores requests specific information about the financial and physical execution of projects funded by the PRR.
The Bolieiro government has been highlighting the volume of investment planned for the Azores through the PRR, which represents a significant share of the funds available to the region. However, the socialists question whether these values actually correspond to investment made or merely to commitments assumed.
This is not the first time that the Madeiran opposition has questioned the execution of the PRR in the region. The request now submitted is part of a strategy by PS/Açores to monitor and oversee the application of European funds allocated to the archipelago.
