President Lula (PT) has 46% of voting intentions in a potential runoff against Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL), who registers 44%. The two are technically tied within the margin of error of 2 percentage points plus or minus. In the previous edition of the poll, released on August 21st, Lula appeared with 47% and Flavio with 43%.

The new Datafolha survey was released on Thursday (3) and was commissioned by the Globo group and the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo. This is the first poll by the institute after the interviews with presidential candidates conducted on CBN, in O Globo newspaper and in Valor Econômico, as well as the interviews on TV Globo and the start of free electoral broadcasting.

Datafolha heard 2,002 people aged 16 or older between September 1st and 3rd. In addition to Lula's 46% and Flavio's 44%, 9% of respondents declared they would vote blank, null, or for no candidate, while 2% said they did not know or did not respond.

Electoral Court of MG Challenges Eduardo Cunha's Candidacy for Federal Deputy

The Regional Electoral Court of Minas Gerais unanimously denied the candidacy registration of Eduardo Cunha (Republicanos) for federal deputy. In a trial lasting more than three hours, the magistrates followed the rapporteur's vote, accompanying two actions that pointed to the ineligibility of the former president of the Chamber. The Electoral Prosecutor's Office of Minas argued that the removal of Cunha's mandate in 2016 generated an eight-year ineligibility, which would only end in 2027, after the elections, as provided by the Clean Record Law.
