Andrei Rodrigues reacts to Vorcaro's accusations and calls him a 'lying maniac', sources say

The director-general of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, reacted with indignation to the accusations made by former banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master. In conversations with allies, Rodrigues called Vorcaro a "lying maniac," an expression used to refer to someone considered a compulsive liar. The reaction came after Vorcaro stated, in testimony to the office of Minister André Mendonça, the case rapporteur at the Supreme Federal Court, that the Federal Police had blocked a plea deal to protect the director himself of the corporation.

Vorcaro, who has been imprisoned since March, claimed to have a social relationship with Andrei Rodrigues and even stated that he traveled with the director-general of the PF. The former banker also accused the corporation of subjecting him to psychological torture to prevent the signing of the plea agreement.

In his testimony, Vorcaro stated he had information about the participation of members of the current government in the facts under investigation. He has already had two attempts at a plea deal rejected, according to the report.

Behind the scenes, Andrei Rodrigues rebutted the version presented by Vorcaro, reacting to the accusations with strong indignation and classifying the former banker's statements as lies. The case is pending before the STF under the rapporteurship of Minister André Mendonça.
