Avante presidential candidate Augusto Cury stated that, if elected, he intends to appoint two women to the position of ministers on the Supreme Federal Court. The writer and psychologist participated on Thursday in an event at the Assembly of God Church in São Paulo, where he met with the church presidents for about an hour.
Cury clarified that he was not at the venue to ask for votes, but rather to request prayers for the pacification of the country. The candidate classified as "very sad" the recent revelations that point to a strong connection between Minister Alexandre de Moraes and Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Master bank.
The Avante candidate stated that, if any irregularity is proven in the case involving the minister, everything must be taken to the fullest extent. Regarding the criteria for appointing future ministers to the Supreme Court, Cury declared that his wish is for the next two to be women, with no party affiliation in the last five years and over 50 years of age.
