The suspension of Brazilian meat imports by the European Union has taken effect, despite ongoing negotiations between Brazil and the European bloc. The measure mainly affects Brazilian beef exports to the European market.
Brazil has not yet provided the necessary guarantees to allow an audit of its beef exports. Without these guarantees, the European Union could not proceed with the verification of production and export conditions.
However, inspections of poultry and honey imports are already proceeding normally. These product categories were not covered by the suspension affecting beef.
Negotiations between Brazil and the EU continue, but so far the necessary agreements to unblock the beef export situation have not been reached.
