Hospital da Tocha will have a university residence

The municipality of Cantanhede created a university residence for students of the new degree in Occupational Therapy at the Polytechnic University of Coimbra. The residence is located at Hospital da Tocha, which belongs to the municipality.

The new residence offers 34 places for students of the degree. The places are already fully booked for the academic year 2026/27, demonstrating strong demand for the course.

This initiative comes within the scope of the expansion of the educational offerings of the Polytechnic University of Coimbra for the municipality of Cantanhede, with the creation of a new higher education course in the health field.
