Researchers at the University of Coimbra are using Artificial Intelligence to combat Alzheimer's disease. The work focuses on the study of a protein that can limit the propagation of tau protein in the brain, a process associated with the neurodegeneration characteristic of this disease.
Scientists use artificial intelligence tools to identify and analyze new ways to stop the degenerative process. The goal is to find mechanisms that prevent the progression of the disease by intervening in the way tau protein spreads between brain cells.
This project represents an innovative approach that combines biotechnology with advanced computing, allowing researchers to process large volumes of data and identify patterns that would be difficult to detect through traditional research methods.
