Free event brings bird watchers together at the Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro hosts, between September 4th and 7th, the 11th edition of Avistar Rio, an event dedicated to bird watching, research, and bird conservation. The program is free and takes place in different areas of the park, including the Botanical Garden Museum, the Art Shed, the arboretum, and the Association of Friends of the Botanical Garden.

The official opening is scheduled for Friday at 3 PM at the Botanical Garden Museum, followed by the screening of the documentary "Scientific Expeditions of CNCFlora: neglected biomes — Caatinga, pampa, and pantanal". The film features researchers Gustavo Martinelli and Eduardo Fernandez.

The event is aimed at those who enjoy bird watching, photographing nature, or want to learn more about Brazilian wildlife. On Saturday and Sunday, at 7 AM, biologist and ornithologist Henrique Rajão will lead the bird watching activities in the park.
