An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 on the Richter scale was felt on Pico island. The tremor was recorded by CIVISA at 00h12, corresponding to 01h12 in Lisbon. The epicenter of the quake was located about 60 kilometres northwest of Capelo, on Faial island. The geographical proximity between the two islands of the Azores archipelago explains the seismic tremor felt on Pico.
