Aina Vidal: "While Vox talks about hunting people, in Ceuta there were human beings sleeping on the sand. Children without food. And you talk about invasion? You have to be wretched"

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General3 September 2026 at 10:31

Aina Vidal, a Sumar deputy, strongly criticized the Vox party after statements by Figaredo about "hunting immigrants." The deputy considered the rhetoric used by the far-right party unacceptable.

Vidal contrasted Vox's words with the reality in Ceuta, where migrants slept on the sand and children went without food. The deputy questioned how one can speak of an "invasion" in the face of such a serious situation of human vulnerability.

Vidal's statement comes following the words of Figaredo, a Vox member, who used the expression "hunt immigrants," which provoked strong condemnation from the Sumar deputy.

STJ rejects appeal, and Alexandre Nardoni and Anna Jatobá remain in open regime

The 5th Panel of the STJ unanimously rejected the appeal seeking the return of Alexandre Nardoni and Anna Jatobá to closed regime. The trial, conducted by Justice Ribeiro Dantas in a virtual session, denied the request from the LGBTQIAPN+ Pride Association, which failed to pay the court costs required by the tribunal, making it impossible to analyze the merits. With this, both remain in the open regime, where they have already been serving their sentence since obtaining the progression, with no connection to the new investigation request seeking a review of the authorship of the crime.
