The Armindo Teixeira Lopes Municipal Museum, in Mirandela, will undergo a requalification intervention budgeted at approximately 900 thousand euros. The project includes the modernization of the space, the reorganization of the exhibition areas, and the creation of new conditions for the conservation of the collection, including the installation of a dedicated area for storage, an immersive route, and conservation and restoration work on the existing pieces. Of the 900 thousand euros planned, approximately 600 thousand are destined for the construction work and the remainder for the acquisition of equipment.
The museum is currently closed to the public and is expected to remain so for approximately a year and a half, the estimated period for the execution of the works. After the requalification, the municipality intends to present a new exhibition dedicated to Clemente Menéres and create a permanent exhibition focused on the history, identity, and heritage of the council of Mirandela.
The project has 75% financing through the European Regional Development Fund and its main objective is to prepare the museum for future integration into the Portuguese Museum Network. The space, installed in the Cultural Center of Mirandela, brings together a collection of approximately 500 pieces, mainly of painting, engraving, drawing, and sculpture.
