Sánchez: "The Government has nothing to hide. I have ordered the publication of a dossier with all the reports"

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General3 September 2026 at 09:07

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez stated that the Government has nothing to hide and ordered the publication of a dossier with all reports related to the migratory crisis. The statement comes in response to criticism about the management of the situation at the borders.

Sánchez distinguished between alerting about the increase in swimming crossings and specifically predicting what came to happen. According to the prime minister, none of the reports that reached the Executive warned about what actually occurred.

The Spanish Government thus defended its position in the face of the controversy, insisting that there were no information failures or warnings that had been ignored before the events. The publication of the dossier aims to demonstrate transparency in the management of the crisis.
