US Energy Secretary guarantees that US does not want to "steal" Venezuelan oil

The US Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, stated that the United States does not intend to "steal" Venezuela's oil, responding to concerns about a potential energy agreement between the two countries.

Wright defended an agreement in which Venezuela would start enjoying an asset that, according to him, is "unused, that yields nothing to the Venezuelan people," suggesting that greater utilization of oil resources would benefit the Venezuelan population.

During the occasion, the Secretary announced contracts for energy and hydrocarbons, reinforcing American interest in establishing partnerships in the Venezuelan energy sector.

The US official also highlighted the need to stabilize the country before elections, indicating that Venezuela's economic and political recovery is considered an important step for any future cooperation.
